As a member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic or Republican parties, you must write a full page (11-12 pt. font 1.5 spacing) editorial explaining to your constituents your House vote on the Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010 H.R.4853
. In order to accomplish this you must:
1. Research the history of this legislation going back to November and the Big Three’s trip to DC. Many of these resources are linked to my kirbyscurrents.blogspot.com.
2. Review the main provisions of the Bill that passed in the Senate.
3. Review the rubric for the evaluation criteria. We will discuss this in class.
4. Draft an editorial that meets the criteria of the rubric
a. Clearly establishing your position
b. Explaining the arguments for and against the Bill that were presented in the course of the legislative process.
c. Citing at least 3 arguments in support of your position and supporting these with specific evidence.
