Assistive Technology Training Online Project (ATTO):

Assistive Technology Training Online Project (ATTO) provides information regarding how to decide which AT is appropriate for your student(s). It also provides information about including technology within your lessons depending on the subject matter. Online tutorials teach you how to use specific hardware devices and software programs. It is a sort of “one-stop-shop” for all of your classroom AT needs. An excellent resource for all special education teachers.

Autism Coach:

Autism Coach is a commercial autism spectrum product catalog and informational site that offers a large selection of educational software (as well as books, toys, and nutritional supplements). Thorough product descriptions include the age range and what skill set the product is targeting for development. Most of the products either have scientific studies directly proving their effectiveness or related scientific data that supports their use.

TinSnips:

Tinsnips is a special education resource site developed by a teacher in New Orleans. It offers a variety of specialized teaching tools, techniques, worksheets, and activities for elementary school teachers of students who have autistic spectrum disorders and related developmental disabilities. Many of these activities are also appropriate for pre-K and kindergarten children.

Teachers TV:

Teachers TV provides video clips and documentaries, as well as forums and advice for classroom teachers. It is an excellent resource for all teachers, but especially the new teacher, because the clips provide a practical look at what real teachers working with real students are doing in the classroom.

National Association of Special Education Teachers:

National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) is a membership site, but it does offer many free resources for teachers. Teachers should consider joining this organization, as it is the only national membership organization dedicated solely to meeting the needs of special education teachers and those preparing for the field of special education teaching.
